NDP statement on confirmed COVID case in Nunavut
“We now know there is one confirmed case of COVID-19 in Nunavut, the first confirmed case of a resident of Nunavut that isn't a worker from outside of the territory.
We would like to express our best wishes to the patient suffering, and wish them a speedy recovery. Our thoughts are with the family and the community.
As it has been said and restated by the Government of Nunavut, one case is not a cause for panic. We must however remain vigilant. To all Nunavummiut, please continue to wash your hands, wear face masks, and if you feel unwell, stay home. Let’s also continue to practice physical distancing, and keep contacts with those outside of households to a minimum.
We would also like to thank Dr. Patterson for all of the hard work he's doing to help contain the spread of this virus, and to everyone for all of the health measures taken. Your actions following public health guidelines will help save lives.”
